For the past three years, this company has operated under the name Vanguard Results. Naming a business isn’t an easy task, and I chose something that personally resonated with me and the fact that I wanted to offer a new approach to small business human resources. On both the website and business cards, we included the definition of vanguard: a group of people leading the way in new development or ideas. That’s still critically important to me, both as a person and a business owner, but as this business has grown and evolved, I’ve realized it’s time to embrace a new name.
First, let me say that I’m proud of the success of this company, and I’m proud of our unique approach to human resources as it pertains to small business. I’m also proud of our clients, who have embraced opportunities for growth by thinking strategically about human resources. As I’ve talked with many prospects and clients in the past three years, the conversation always turns to “Why HR?” Why is HR important for my business? What does HR mean for me? What can I expect in terms of HR support for my business? Thus, our new name: Why HR.
The name Why HR helps us better identify ourselves in the marketplace to current and prospective clients. We want to continue helping you grow your business by defining and redefining the “why” in the HR support we offer, including compliance, defining policy around culture, smart growth strategies, and more. A name change means lots of things, such as a new website, new business cards, and more. One thing that won’t change, however, is our steadfast commitment to our clients and their continued success. We look forward to working with you!
