WhyHR is pleased to welcome Aj McGee to the team as an HR assistant. In his role, he will be working with clients on a wide range of HR tasks, including answering questions about policies, creating offer letters, updating paperwork, and processing change of status forms.
Aj’s professional background includes diverse experience that gives him a clear view of how people think and respond to each other in various business situations. In his most recent internship, he worked in human resources for the Oklahoma City Zoo. Prior to that, he worked as a dog training instructor and as a bank teller.
He holds multiple degrees, including associate degrees in both Spanish language and public service, a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in human relations. He initially planned to be a counselor but then shifted to human relations because the field offered an outlet for his passion to help people on a professional level.
Aj’s passion to help people and improve his community doesn’t end with the workday, as he is actively involved in many volunteer efforts. He especially enjoys connecting people to the resources they need and raising money for a good cause. Over the years, he has been involved with organizations ranging from the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce to the Eufaula Arts Council and TFI Family Services.
When he is not working in human resources or volunteering, he enjoys spending his time expanding his dog training skills. He is currently working with his standard poodle, Velvet, in hopes of showing him in the future. The accomplishment Aj is most proud of in his life was the opportunity to serve as host of the Oklahoma City Pride Parade in 2012.
Aj brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the WhyHR team and is looking forward to serving our clients.
